Is privatization the answer? 1 Year, 8 Months ago
We have laws like all countries, but do we have the implementation? Let us not dwell on a very broad criteria and instead take up our roads and housing only. We have DDA and likes for all states, but do we have even one city or state where the regulations are implemented as they should be?The officers may or may not be corrupt, but the fact that no rules are being followed is for all to see. If not the whole DDA, then can atleast the control department for these organizations be privated? What I mean is, that the traffic policemen, the inspectors who check the house plans are being followed or not and even the cleaniness inspectors, can belong to private institutions. One option can be somebody like TATA, who are already into a lot of social initiatives. This need not be a purely social initiave, and the mullah from the fines can be split between the private instituion and government, but will this not ensure less corruption and more implememtation of regulations? The initial investment for any private institution undertaking this will be high, but the returns will be slow and steady for them, keeping in mind our mentality to break rules as often as we can thoughts?

what's the guarantee that private organizations won't be corrupt. There are already so many private local contractors in railways, MCD etc that are corrupt.
After all very people remain same.

Why not improve efficacy of the government system itself. It's our own system and we have more right to correct it than on a private org.
